How it works

01

Set it up once

You get your own TermTime address. Add it as a second contact at your school and their emails start arriving on their own. We walk you through it.

02

One two-minute read

Every Sunday at five: what's coming up, what needs paying, what needs a costume. Read it while the kettle boils.

03

Urgent things never wait

If something needs paying, signing or packing before your next digest, we tell you the same day. One short nudge, never more than one a day.

04

Dates land in your calendar

Each event arrives as a calendar invite, so your phone reminds you the night before, not in the playground.

An app is on the way.

TermTime works in any browser today, and your Sunday summary lands in your inbox wherever you already read it. The iPhone app is being built first, with Android to follow.

Questions parents ask

If yours isn't here, email us and a person will answer.

What is TermTime?

TermTime is a service for parents that reads the emails your child's school sends you and turns them into one calm summary every Sunday. It pulls out the trips, the deadlines, the kit lists and the payments, and puts every date straight into your calendar. Anything urgent doesn't wait for Sunday: you get that the same day.

Is TermTime the same as my school's term dates?

No. "Term time" as two words usually means the school term itself, and your council's website is where you'll find term and holiday dates. TermTime, one word, is a separate service that reads your school's emails for you. It isn't run by a school or a council.

How does TermTime get my school's emails?

You get your own private TermTime address, and set your email to forward the school's messages to it. That's the whole setup, and it takes a couple of minutes. Nothing is read until you forward it.

Does TermTime read the rest of my email?

No. TermTime only ever sees the messages you forward to your own TermTime address. It has no access to your inbox, your contacts or anything else in your account, and it can't go looking.

Which schools does it work with?

Any school that emails you, anywhere. TermTime reads the email itself rather than plugging into a school system, so it works the same whether the message came from a teacher directly or through ParentMail, Arbor, ClassDojo, Seesaw or anything else.

What does TermTime cost?

TermTime Plus is $4.99 a month and starts with 14 days free, so you can try the whole thing before paying anything. Plus adds the month view, calendar subscription, and a second parent or guardian on the same family. TermTime on its own is $2.49 a month and is charged from the day you start it, with no free trial. You can switch between them or cancel any time, and you keep what you've paid for until the end of the period.

Will the dates go into my own calendar?

Yes. Every date TermTime finds can be subscribed to from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook, so school dates sit alongside everything else in your week and update on their own as new emails arrive.

Can both parents use it?

Yes, on TermTime Plus. You invite the other parent or a guardian by email, they get their own account, and they see the same dates and can tick things off. Either of you marking something done shows for both.

Is there an app?

An iPhone app is on the way, with Android after it. Everything works in a browser on your phone in the meantime.

Sundays are about to get shorter.

In a good way. Two minutes on Sunday, a nudge when something can't wait, a full week already in the calendar.
